1980-Present

Left Photo: Ahern Fire Protection was formed in 1981. Today, Ahern operates offices in seven Midwestern states. The Division offers a full range of services, from sprinkler installation to service and maintenance.

Center Photo: Ahern's Pipe Fabrication Shop served all branches of the company, handling only internal projects until 1982. Ahern then began marketing fabrication services to external customers. External projects now account for 86% of the Pipe Fabrication Division's sales, and the shop is nationally recognized as one of the most complete and modern of its kind.

Right Photo: In 2004, Ahern reached a milestone when employment reached over 1,000 people. The Company reached a record 2 million hours worked in 2007, and continues on its path of growth and success as it nears 130 years of operation.

JFA sold its residential business in 1983, enabling the company to focus on large commercial, industrial, and municipal projects. Through steady growth, key acquisitions, and a commitment to excellence, JFA has established itself as one of the largest and most respected mechanical and fire protection contractors in the United States. Sales for 2007 exceeded $194 million.
